Three pics from the show I was in for Contact 2009. The one of me is from my first artist talk, which was a lot more nerve racking than teaching. I think I talked 95% process and 5% about the actul images. But that's how us historical process makers roll. Ha

NEW workshops dates have been announced

Gallery 44 has listed on thier website my upcoming ambrotype workshops.

Ambrotypes
Saturday February 21, 1PM – 7PM
Go back in time and experience the historical process of the Ambrotype. Emerging artist Rob Norton will guide participants through the creation of images using an enlarger and slides. Participants will work in the darkroom, ultimately creating two Ambrotypes of their own in addition to a brief introduction to the history of the Modern Ambrotype. Darkroom experience is preferred, but not essential for this workshop. Link

Advanced Ambrotype
Saturday March 21, 1PM - 8PM
Take the Ambrotype process one step further. This workshop is designed for those who have taken the Ambrotype workshop or have introductory experience with the process. This workshop will give students further printing time with the guidance of an experienced instructor, with a focus on keeping a detailed journal and instruction on varnishing of the plates. Link
